Practice Bio

Upon graduating law school in 2002, Jessica began to practice Real Estate for a firm in Queens, N.Y. She handled a wide array of residential and commercial real estate transactions during her time at the firm. Not only did Jessica represent buyers and sellers, she also represented lenders. Additionally, Jessica represented both landlords and tenants in Court and through litigation. After gaining valuable Real Estate knowledge, Jessica began working as an Assistant District Attorney in Nassau County in 2003. As a prosecutor, Jessica gained valuable courtroom experience and was promoted to the Felony Sex Offense and Domestic Violence Division. During her time as an Assistant District Attorney, Jessica conducted a multitude of pre-trial hearings as well as trials on both misdemeanor and felony cases. She prosecuted many types of cases, including, violent crimes such as Rape in the First Degree and Attempted Murder. In 2006, Jessica left the office and began working for a criminal defense firm in Rockville Centre, New York. Jessica gained invaluable experience as a defense attorney and has handled both misdemeanor and felony cases from arraignments to trials. During her time at the firm, Jessica also began to gain in depth experience in Family/Matrimonial Law. Jessica has handled many family court matters, including, paternity, child support, child custody, neglect and Juvenile Delinquency in the New York area. Over the last several years, Jessica has handled both uncontested and contested divorce matters and has gained tremendous knowledge and experience in this area of law. Jessica also has a passion for legal research and writing. Often times, she helps other attorneys on their cases with pre-trial motions, orders to show cause and post-trial motions. She is admitted to practice in New York State*. She is a member of the Nassau County Bar Association, Former Assistant District Attorney Association, Criminal Courts Bar Association.

Practice Bio

Ms. Bartling has experience dealing in both civil and criminal aspects of the law from complex civil litigation to misdemeanor and violent, complex felony criminal trials. She also specializes in matrimonial and divorce law. While in law school she interned at the United Stated Attorney’s Office in the Eastern District of New York where she gained knowledge through the teachings of federal prosecutors as well as the hands-on experience in criminal trial techniques. Ms. Bartling was also employed at the reputable Long Island law firm of Farrell Fritz, P.C. While there she gained extensive experience in complex commercial litigation, municipal litigation, trust and estates, matrimonial litigation and bankruptcy litigation. She then went on to the Nassau County District Attorney’s Office. It was at the District Attorney’s Office that she gained knowledgeable experience trying misdemeanor and felony cases to verdict at the state criminal level. Since her employment at LaRusso and Conway she has tried numerous State felony cases to verdict including major offense homicides, violent felonies and complex white collar cases. She has also tried numerous Federal Court trials dealing in RICO, white collar and narcotics and gang cases.  Ms. Bartling has broadened her expertise to include matrimonial litigation. She has experience dealing in complex contested matrimonial actions as well as uncontested mediation. She has a broad range of experience dealing with the new matrimonial guidelines and laws in New York State. Her extensive litigation background has allowed Ms. Bartling to have a high success rate in matrimonial litigations. She is a member of the Nassau County Bar Association, Suffolk County Bar Association, New York State Bar Association, Association of Trial Lawyers of America, New York State Criminal Defense Attorney Association, American Bar Association of Federal Criminal Defense Attorneys, National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, New York State Trial Lawyers Association, and the Association of Trial Lawyers of America.
